Dietician Heart Healthy Cookbook reviews

I will start with the Betty Crocker Healthy Heart Cookbook.  This book has 140 easy recipes.  They are simple but refined recipes.  After you cook them your family will think they are eating at a uptown restaurant.  It seems like the recipes would be hard to make and have a lot of ingredients but quit the opposite. They are easy to make with not too many ingredients.  I will share with you my three favorite dinner meals.

1.Honey Mustard Chicken with baby Carrots- I add Idahoan powder mashed potatoes & use Sweet Baby Rays Honey Mustard dipping sauce.

2.Fajita Salad w/yogurt Italian dressing sauce- Cooked with onion and bell pepper strips

3.Gyro Salad w/Greek Seasoning cooked steak pieces as the Gyro & cucumber with chopped tomato.  Sauce is a Greek yogurt/sour cream & skim milk w/ more Greek Seasoning

Out of all the recipes I get from the Internet like Food Network I like these recipes from the Betty Crocker cookbook the best.   Not only are they simple to make they taste the best and are Heart healthy. The book has very well taken photos throughout the book.   If you want a healthy cookbook this is it.

Rita F Redberg M.D. says about the Betty Crocker Healthy Heart Cookbook ”An essential guide for making it fun and easy to stay heart-healthy-this book is a must-have”.

Next is the 1001 Heart Healthy Recipes by Dick Logue.  This book doesn’t have pictures but it does have tons of easy recipes.  This book has main dish recipes from Poultry, Beef, Pork, Vegatarian, Fish & Seafood. It also covers soups, stews, chilies, breakfast, breads, Italian, Asian, Mexican, Cajun, salads, desserts, and sides.  The recipes are top notch.  They are quality but simple and not as refined as the Betty Crocker book.  However, there are most any recipe you could think and they are heart-healthy so it’s a win/win.  I would recommend this book as well for a starter cookbook and to add a plethora of new recipes to choose from.
